I want...

I always thought that a green smoothie had to be made with juice or milk.
That it had to be sweet, thick and filling.

I'm ready! And, because of the loads of healthy fats and protein, that a green smoothie just couldn’t be less than 300 calories.
And banana? Oh, it HAS to have banana in it.
When I make a green smoothie for myself? It’s banana-filled.
What’s up with that?
I’m on a mission to create a different kind of green smoothie.
A snacky smoothie.
A “I just want to drink my greens but I don’t want need a meal replacement” kind of smoothie.
A smoothie that is going to spark my energy, load me full of healthy ingredients, and refuel my day.
A smoothie that’s light, cooling and fresh. Very similar to the Watermelon Smoothie Cooler I shared with you earlier this month.
And, I think I’ve got just the recipe…
If I had to rate this green smoothie based on it’s ‘granola factor’, I’d give it a 9 out of 10. It’s naturally sweet, but if you’re new to smoothies and quite enjoy the sweet variety, this may not be your cup of tea.
If you like your smoothies sweet, try adding 20 green grapes (the sweet ones!) to the mix.
Or, add a bit of vanilla protein powder to boost the flavor.
Or, maybe a splash of honey, maple syrup or your favorite sweetener of choice.
I quite enjoy the subtle taste of cucumber, melon and plum that shines through this smoothie… but it’s not for everyone!
