I want...
December 29, 2013 By Leanne Vogel November 7, 2018
I created over 200 recipes in 2013.
I experimented with using cauliflower as a base for cream soups, cooked quinoa as a substitute for rolled oats and sweet potato instead of oil in a chocolate fudge cake.

I'm ready! Some ideas were good, others were not so good.
Today, I’m sharing the recipe winners with you – the most shared, most loved, most made… plus a couple of my personal favorites.
Do you have a favorite Healthful Pursuit recipe?
I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!
The first time I used cooked quinoa to replace oats in one of my favorite oatmeal cookie recipes I was blown away! Then, I made over 8 different variations of the cookie. It changed the way I did breakfast.
I wish I could take the credit for this idea… but my hubby Kevin came up with the concept. Cauliflower to make vegan (and paleo) soup creamy. Brilliant.
My sister and I created this cake. We swapped out the oil for mashed sweet potato and then slathered each square with dairy-free frosting. Best slumber party ever!
A reader favorite – these bars went crazy, you loved them!
Kevin and I have been using this recipe for years and years so it only felt right to share it with you.
I was going to make this recipe with butternut squash… but I didn’t have any so I improvised and it blew me away! Roasted pumpkin + curry = pure deliciousness. This is a Leanne favorite, 100%.
I used to love baked oatmeal and thought it was completely off limits when I chose to go (mostly) grain-free. But, I learned that quinoa is a great replacement for oats! Throw them in a casserole dish with liquid, top it off with a crunchy topping and you’re set!
I was surprised to see that this recipe was a top 5 recipe of 2013. It’s a great (fruit-free) green juice. Definitely one of my favorite juice recipes on the blog.
Another Leanne favorite! These squares were inspired by Crudessence, my favorite raw/vegan restaurant in Montreal. Although we didn’t enjoy living in Montreal all that much, the people and restaurants I connected with made the whole experience worth it.
I turn to warm salads when the temperature drops. This recipe is one that I’ve been making for as long as I can remember. Squash, sweet potato, seeds, greens and a Dijon dressing. There’s nothing like it!
Many Healthful Pursuit readers have said, “Carrot cake anything… and I’m sold!” I couldn’t help but make a carrot cake breakfast cookie. It needed to happen this year!
Another Kevin invention! He takes full credit for this one. Gosh, it’s delicious.
Smother your sandwiches, pasta, crackers, veggies… anything (!!) in this sauce. This is a Leanne favorite, hands down.
Just a couple of ingredients is all you need to make this soup… and it isn’t made with cashews!
not only does this dressing go fabulous on a salad but it can also be used to marinate vegetables, beans, chicken and fish. So flavorful!
